The last semester

Okay, so this is my last semester at AUM. I'll be completing a 5 year accounting degree in 4, by going every summer & taking 5 classes some semesters. I'm so excited for this chapter in my life to be over. Granted, I'm going in the Air Force as a linguistic & I'll be going to school for another 2 years.. I'm ready to move on. Accounting has almost gotten boring :

This past week has been HECTIC! I worked 41 hours (opps on the OT :P) in 6 days, and the one day off I had I still had to wake up early to go take the DLAB exam. The test determined whether or not I qualified for the linguistic job. Also, I've been cleaning out my scrapbooking room so one of Sean's friends could move in with us. Although having a roommate has it's downfalls, this will help us with the rent & utilities as mine & Sean's hours are getting cut at work, and we're both going to school. He's a really nice guy, & I don't see there being any problems. He's out of that immature stage guys go through! whew! Saturday I worked until 11, went home to nap/eat lunch, and then walked in the Prattville Mardi Gras Parade. It was nice, especially since my cousin Nick(the only cousin I consider to be close with) is going into the Air Force this summer as well, so he participated too! I bought TWO bags of candy, thinking that would be more than enough. NOT! Nick & I were the only two who bought candy besides the recruiters and so that went fast. The route was longer than we expected, we got just over 3/4 of the way and ran out of candy & air force nik naks- the only thing we had left was bags. The AF golf cart we were using also ran out of juice, so the boys had to push it! I told Nick I wanted to get out picture taken while we were there, to make our mommys proud. Well one of the recruiter's said something before I had a chance, and got all the applicants together & even Bobby Bright! After I got home, I layed in bed, and folded laundry- the thing I hate most :[

Sunday I worked until 2, came home to tidy up a little bit, did homework with Jessica, and made dinner. Sean absolutely LOVES my meatloaf. It makes his whole day when he knows I'm making it. We ate dinner & watched Gran Torino together. All four of us fit on the couch :] Eventually, Chloe's constant farting got her kicked off though! haha. It seems like no matter how much sleep I get it's never enough. I sleep 4 I'm exhausted, I sleep 6 I'm exhausted, I sleep 10 I'm exhausted. & It doesn't help I have class until 9 or 10 and night, and then have to be at work at 6am. :[ I'm looking forward to having a 8-5ish job!

Well, off to type up some notes. Update next week? :]

Yay for 2010!

Thanks Sarah for the idea :]

So this year has been decent so far.. Sean & I both have been working as much as possible. Although we're both starting to get fed up with our employers; lies and hopeless promises. I've made a decision about my career, & it will not have me employeed at Home Depot the rest of my life.

I graduate May 15, 2010: thank goodness it's one more semester! Afterwards, I will be joining the United States Air Force. If I'm correct, I believe my cousin Nick & I will be going to basic at the same time. I know basic will be hell, but least it'll be nice to know someone before I go! I havent taken my ASVAB yet, or my DLAB. I will be taking both this week, as well as spending the night at a hotel, so the next day I could do my physical. I'm definately not looking forward to spending the day in a room naked with a bunch of other woman.

Depending on my scores, I could join as an Airborne Linguistic. I never thought of doing anything NOT accounting or finance related. I guess that's the recruiter's job though, to fill the spots the AF needs. If I choose this job, I will be flying in an airplane translating "enemy" conversations. I learned French in middle & high school, and it was pretty simple. I just wouldn't want to learn Hebrew or Arabic. Luckily, if that language is chosen for me, I'm given almost 2 years to learn it :]

I am truely looking forward to having a career in the USAF. I will be able to travel the world!! When I fill out my MEPS paperwork, I get to choose 6 places I believe? I'm chosing ALL oversea locations. Italy, Japan, Germany, Greece, England, Australia, & Hawaii. I know Hawaii is considered the US, but I know I'd never be able to visit unless I was stationed there.

Wish me good luck,
ASVAB Tuesday
DLAB Thursday
Physical Friday
